Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) windows

ZnSe windows

Zinc selenide (ZnSe) windows are optical components made from ZnSe crystals, renowned for their excellent optical properties, particularly in the mid-infrared (IR) spectral region.

ZnSe exhibits high transparency in the mid-IR range, typically from 0.6 μm to 20 μm, making it suitable for numerous optical applications.

YREMOptics manufactures ZnSe windows in various shapes and sizes.  Here is a standard examples of manufacturing in stock:

Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) Windows
Uncoated and AR-Coated Versions Available
Available Diameter (mm) Thickness (mm)
12.7 3.0
25.4 5.0

Advanced polishing techniques are employed to produce ZnSe windows with precise dimensions, surface finishes, and optical properties.

Zinc Selenide windows prove highly suitable for numerous IR applications, notably in high-power CO2 laser systems. Featuring low IR absorption and exceptional resistance to thermal shock, ZnSe stands out. However, it’s worth noting that the soft nature of ZnSe material renders it unsuitable for harsh environmental conditions.
